Robust FoIP server for mass faxing

March 17th, 2009

We are looking for a robust mass FoIP solution with AvantFAX as front end and at least 20 soft modems that will be able to send the faxes at the same time through SIP channels. The solution needs to automatically detect failed faxes and redial a given number of times.

We have posted a similar project earlier, but decided to go ahead with a Hylafax Asterisk solution. It did not work out. Asterisk has too many issues and creates gaps during fax transmission, hence the system always reports “no carrier”. It is not a matter of the network as we successfully send thousands of faxes through this provider and a very bad network.

The server has the following configuration:
Linux open SUSE 10.3 or CentOS 5.2
2 x 2,6 GHz
4 GB RAM
100 MB internet connection

Please bear in mind that this is a rented dedicated server and we are unable to add any hardware to it.

You should be able to demonstrate the features and benefits of your solution. You should configure the software with two existing SIP providers that support the T38 fax protocol and give us an introduction on how to configure the server with new providers and how to add new soft modems if necessary.

Please bid only if you have precise expertise in this area, meaning if you have successfully installed FoIP servers for mass faxing. If not, it does not make sense to bid as we have tried it already. Really. The maximum budget is 400 USD. Bids above 400 USD won’t be considered.
